Modified MDI Wanhua Wannate 8629D Used For Polyurethane Integral Skin Foam

1. Application

WANNATE 8629D is a mixture of polyol-modified diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) and polymethylene polyphenyl isocyanate (PMDI). It is a brown liquid at room temperature.Mainly used in the automotive, furniture, and toy industries, especially suitable for the production of polyurethane integral skin foam.

4. Storage

Due to the high reactivity of WANNATE 8629D, it readily reacts with moisture to form insoluble urea compounds and releases carbon dioxide gas, which can lead to drum swelling and increased viscosity. Therefore, containers must be completely dry, tightly sealed, and protected with dry nitrogen during storage.

WANNATE 8629D should be stored at room temperature (15–25°C) in a well-ventilated indoor area with strict sealing. If the storage temperature falls below 10°C, crystallization may occur. In the event of crystallization, it must be melted as soon as possible by heating. It is recommended to use a hot air oven with a rotating drum device at 70–80°C. Localized overheating is strictly prohibited, as decomposition and gas formation may occur above 230°C. After heating, the material inside the drum must be mixed thoroughly.

Avoid prolonged storage above 50°C to prevent formation of insoluble solids and viscosity increase. Under appropriate storage conditions, the shelf life is 9 months.

5. Shelf Life

From the date of manufacture, the shelf life is 9 months under recommended storage conditions. Products beyond the shelf life that still meet specification requirements generally remain suitable for use.
