Colorless TDI 100 Based Polyester Polyurethane Prepolymer

Colorless TDI 100 Based Polyester Polyurethane Prepolymer

1. Description

This is a TDI-100 based Polyester polyurethane prepolymer.

TDI based products are less sensitive to moisture, have shorter demould times and more user friendly than MDI product.

Polyester based polyurethanes have superior cut, tear, abrasion, oil and solvent resistance.

2. Characteristics

  • High oil resistance
  • Abrasive resistance
  • Good michanical performance

3. Applications

  • Sieve plate
  • Machine parts
  • Sealing ring
  • Roller

4. Typical properties

Type Appearance Viscosity(mPa.s/85℃) NCO% Packing(kg/drum)
  Solid 1800-2000 3.60-3.80 20/200

5. Operating Procedure

First, the prepolymer should be preheated in 80-85℃. Second, after vacumming, the prepolymer is to be mixed with melting MOCA evenly. Third, with degassing, casting into mould, and vulcanization, and then demould. Lastly, the finished product should be post vulcanized.

6. Reaction parameters

Item MOCA (%) Gel time(min) Mixing temperature(℃) Post vulcanization(h)
Specification 10.5 9-10 85/120 10

7. Finished products properties

Item Hardness(Shore A) Tensile strength(MPa) Tear strength(KN/m) Rebounding(%)
Physical properties 85 46-48 70-75 39

8. Effects of curative level

All physical properties of elastomers are sensitive to curative level. The curative level is often expressed as % theory. The table below

shows how physical properties vary with % theory.

Physical properties Change
Hardness Remains unchanged between 85-100%
Tensile strength Maximum physical properties achieved between 90-95% theory
Tear strength Maximum properties at 100-105% theory. Significantly lower outside the range
Abrasion resistance Remains relatively unchanged between 85-105% theory. Slightly better at 100-105% theory.
Flex life Maximum property at 100-105% theory
Elongation Maximum at 100-105% theory
Compression set Best at 85-95% theory
